***Entertainment Books are now available, $20.00 per book ...  books are available at meetings or contact John Parker or Amy Roll for more details***

1. GSE Farewell Party - Tom Singer and Amy Roll attended.  It was very nice, we spent some time with Preya and her family.  All of the team members were there and gave the crowd a small sample of the presentations they will be giving while in Japan.

2. Official visit of DG Judy Garver will be on Oct. 15th.  There will be a board meeting that same day, 4:30 PM at Blumz.

3. We will be participating in the Ferndale Fall Festival on October 10th.  Our first event will be at Kennedy Elementary School, 24220 Rosewood, Oak Park from 11 AM - 3 PM; we will be giving away balloons to the kids and giving out information about Rotary to their parents.  We hope to highlight the bike helmets and DNA kits that our club supplies to the community.  Our second event will be at Martin Rd. Park from 4 - 7 PM.  We will be doing the same thing there, in addition to hopefully selling FOP Raffle tickets (Earl is working on getting us a motorcycle to have on site).  Our main objective for participation is to bring awareness to the community about Rotary and maybe even recruit a few new members!  The membership committee is going to be working very diligently to have the business cards and club brochure done for these events!!  If you are able and willing to help, please let President Amy know.  We need members there for this to work!!!!!

4. Rotary Jeopardy will be on November 10 at the Royal Oak Club beginning at 12:15.  Our club needs to designate two people to participate in the game.  We also need to provide 10 questions from the Rotarian Magazine - August, Septemeber and October issues.  If you are interested in participating please let President Amy know.

5. Bloomfield Hills Club is sponsoring a Community Conversation hosted by Center for Michigan on October 5th from 7 - 9 PM at the Bloomfield Township Senior Center, 4315 Andover Rd.  It is an opportunity to express our visions about the state and country.  The space is filling up fast...if you would like to attend please let President Amy know so she can reserve seats.

6. Amy and Cheryl will be attending an evening event sponsored by Ferndale Community Resource on October 5th at Affirmations.  The purpose is to connect Ferndale community non-profits with local businesses.  This is a great networking opportunity for Ferndale Rotary.

Our scheduled speaker had to reschedule, so those of us who were there had further discussion regarding the club brochure, Ferndale Fall Festival, Holiday Ice Festival and the two community events on October 5th.  It was a very casual meeting!
