Call to Order

Presiding over tonights meeting...President Amy Roll.

President Amy led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of America

Invocation was given by Bert Spaeth

On the Menu...

Chef Jerome started things with a fresh salad with cheese and italian dressing.  For the main course we had a heaping plate of mostaccioli with meat sauce and warm breadsticks.  Lemon cake with carmel sauce was served up for dessert.

              Earl the Pearl took the pot today. 

Scam

           Alex let Sydney pull his card with no luck.  Norm took two strikes at it,

          but no lucky ACE this week. 

Happy Bucks

We haven't done Happy Bucks in a few weeks, so we had lots of happy Rotarians today:

Earl: Extremely happy that his brother has had two checkups since undergoing surgery and all indications are that he is cancer free!

Norm: Very happy about the Pancake Breakfast

Tom: Is happy to be heading south, will be in Tennessee about this time in two weeks.

Neville: Happy about the younger members pulling the rope

Alex: Happy about the Pancake Breakfast turn out and also attending the Youth Exchange interviews with Norm a couple weeks ago.

Cheryl: Happy about the Pancake Breakfast turn out

Amy: Very happy to have time over the holidays to spend with her brother and his family who will be in from North Carolina.

Bert: Gave a happy buck so he wouldn't be left out!

 

EVERYONE WAS HAPPY TODAY....YAY!!!!!!

General Announcements:

There will be no meeting on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or New Years Eve.  The board of directors has recommended that members donate the money they would have spent on meals ($30) to The Rotary Foundation - Polio Plus.  Please make your checks payable to The Rotary Foundation and forward to Bert Spaeth.

 

1. Rotary Year 2010 - 2011 Club Officres:

      President - Alex Amaya

      President Elect - Cheryl Baur

      Immediate Past President - Amy Roll

      Treasurer - Norm Raymond

      Secretary - Fred Bond

      Directors - Tom Singer, Earl Sparkman and Sherry Wells

Nominations were put forth by the nomination committee.  No other nominations were made during open discussion at the meeting.  The members present voted unanimously in favor of the ballot presented.

2. Ferndale Rotary will be hosting the Chamber Coffee Connection on Tuesday, January 5th.  We need volunteers to help plan the event. There will be a meeting on Tuesday, December 29th, 5:30 PM at Norm's house, 1166 Withington to discuss this event.  It is also important to have a good many Rotarians at the event itself on January 5th.  Please make an effort to attend if you are able.

3. The club received a very generous donation from Past President Ed Kakenmaster - a very big thank you to Ed for his gererosity!!!

4. Dues are due on Decemeber 21st.  Please forward payment to Cheryl Baur.

5. Distrist Membership Summitt is scheduled for January 16th.  Three of our members, Amy, Alex and Earl will be attending.  Other Rotarians may attend for $20.00.  Please let President Amy know if you are interested in attending.
